    kecak

Of all the dances seen on Bali islands, the Kecak dance is perhaps the most dramatic. Taken from the Hindu epic Ramayana, the dance tells the story of Prince Rama and his rescue of Princess Sita, who has beenkidnapped by the evil King of Lanka.

Kecak dance is unusual because it has no musical accompaniment like manyother Indonesian dances do, the rhythm of the dance is produced by the chanting 'monkey' chorus. Thechanting noise of "Cak-cak-cak" gave the dance its name Kecak. The dance is a Bali experience not to be missed.
